$150 by the end of the year yes the prophet of profits has spoken. Brace yourself folks gas is at a nationwide average of $3.63 a gallon that will be over $4.00 by august good look people. I want to help yall but only financial literacy can help you guys. Ask questions and leave comments or I'll see you working in McDonald's renting a room from your aunts and uncles with no money for gas or food taking home big macs to feed the kids LOL but seriously it will get that bad sooner than you think people educate yourself.

It's real out there people inflation is on the rise their are food riots around the world. I went food shopping this weekend and it was like a battlefield trying to find a bargain, prices for everything is double and not even exotic items but basic necessities like milk, eggs, rice, bread etc. I don't care what these idiotic economists say we are in a state of recession and hyper inflation which is called stagflation [don't know what that is read my former blog on that].

HELLO I'M BACK!! what up everybody just bringing you some updates on my financial predictions. i predicted last year that oil would hit $120 a barrel this year we are at $115 a barrel already people. We have diminished refining capacity in America right now which will hit your pockets at the pump this spring and summer get ready. Mix that with this recession ,rising food costs and food riots across the world and I'll say we are in for a rough couple of years coming up. I told you people to get some financial literacy it's the only thing that can save you now. Take your savings and put it in silver and euros the dollar is falling fast and hard get out before it goes to zero LOL.

You see we Americans are complacent and think that the U.S is the sun and every other nation revolves around us, but the truth is this is a global economy right now and those days are over. In this global economy the American empire is shrinking in power and economic dominance. I'm almost certain people don't even know that ethanol is driving up corn prices which is driving up food prices. Corn is a very important crop it is used for cattle and pig feed. it is in almost every thing we eat look at the ingredients in your soda juice and food wrappers they all say corn fructose. The all time high wheat prices are causing bread prices to soar making a basic consumer staple like bread unaffordable. The people can't even afford their daily bread.
If you trade stocks like i do I'm here to tell you that this market will go down considerably before it goes back up some where around Dow 11,600
my top holdings are: skf, srs, gld, fxp these stocks will short the market and give you some gold exposure.

Life is unfair. We are all being tested, all the time, on things that "are not on the curriculum" that nobody may have taught us. How unfair! Often we are tested on things that we have no way of knowing! Scary, but true. But the sooner we realize those facts of life, the better off we will be!

The results of the tests in life are not merely whether you get an A, B or C in school. In life, the tests will have far more significant consequences, and may determine if you become wealthy enough to effectively help others, or go bankrupt and have to start all over again, or worse.
Today, everyone in the world who has any money or wealth is being tested on their own knowledge of the nature and value of paper money, and on how much paper money there might be; and on the nature and value of silver and gold as money, and on how much silver and gold there might be.
We are being tested on things that nobody teaches, and on things that are, frankly, impossible to know, although estimates exist, and I do try to share some of the professionally compiled estimates on those subjects.

Today, I'd like to talk a little bit about the facts of hyperinflation. Everyone will be tested on this in this market, so pay attention, because these facts are not widely taught. If you understand this, you can get a serious advantage over other people.
Back in 2003, I wrote:Inflation & Deflation During Hyperinflation Nov 6, 2003 Back when I was selling individual essays, that was a best seller.

I identified a monumental sea change situation that changed in 2001. In 2001, an amazing thing happened. Hyperinflation started in the U.S., and has continued ever since, and gotten worse.
In 2001, the purchasing power of money in the banks (the gold value) peaked, and then started going down faster than the rate of increase of new dollars. Whereas before 2001, both the number and the value of dollars increased at the same time.

Money value peaked in 2001, with M3 being worth 28.2 billion ounces of gold. That's a fact that "paper money value" peaked in terms of the amount of gold it could theoretically buy.
But hey, you know what? Experts claim there are only about 5 billion ounces of gold ever mined in the history of humanity! This shows that there are probably a few too many fraudulent dollars out there.
Today, the value of M3 is still bloated and terribly over valued, and M3 is still increasing in number, while shrinking in value.
Nowandfutures shows that M3 is $14 trillion. What a vast increase over $7.6 trillion in 2001! Nearly double in 7 years!

The gold price today is $912/oz.
So, for April, 2008: M3 14,000 billion / gold price $912/oz. = 15.3 (billion oz. gold value)!
That's 15.3 billion oz. of gold, in theory, that all U.S. money in the banks can buy.
U.S. dollars (Fed notes) are very over valued still, and going down in value, still!
And hyperinflation continues, as inflation of the money supply is now 19%!
INFLATION IS 19.5%! (Inflation of the money supply!)
What's inflation? The U.S. is diluting the value of the dollar by making too many.
It's like adding an extra can of water to the juice.
It's like adding a bunch of cold water to the hot bath.
It's like trying to make Jello with too much water.
The inflation rate is the amount of extra dollars that they are adding each year, that are destroying the value of the dollar.
But since 2001, the value of the dollar is being destroyed FASTER than the inflation rate--that's the hyperinflation that started in 2001.
You are being tested on your knowledge of that, right now.
To pass the test, you need to own physical silver or physical gold.
If you fail the test, you are happy to own paper money, paper bonds, or paper silver and gold certificates.

The CPI is under counting, as it uses hedonic adjustments, and excludes "unimportant" things like gold, silver, food, housing, and energy (what else is there?!), and the true inflation rate must be higher. Experts seem to suggest that the true consumer inflation rate is between 8-12%, but a housewife who pays attention to grocery prices might know more. This is another unknowable part we all get tested on.

Now, the difference between what bonds pay you (2-4%?), and what inflation takes from you (12-19-22%?), is the cost of owning bonds, and while I don't know exact numbers, as nobody can, what I do know, and I guarantee you, is that this is a negative number. What the number is, who knows. Let's say it's negative 15% or so. That's the price you pay, the money you lose each year, for owning bonds, now days, and this has been the penalty since about 2001.Don't pay attention to people who claim there is deflation, or worry about deflation. There is inflation, a lot of inflation, so much inflation that we have hyperinflation. The thing that is deflating is the value of money, because there is hyperinflation.
Why is there hyperinflation? Because there is "never enough money" to avoid bankruptcy of the major institutions, because they are printing money for the war in Iraq, and for too much government. The money printers are fearing deflation because other people might be taking money out of the banks (which is said to be deflationary) to hold it in the mattress, spend it overseas, or use it to buy silver and gold. But that's not deflation, it's the result of hyperinflation.
Hyperinflation makes people take their money out of the banks, and spend it as fast as possible.
The point is that there is no monetary incentive for people to hold cash or bonds right now; as they are losing money because of the high money creation rate, and the gold rate increases.
Another main point that follows is that gold will continue to go up as long as current conditions exist, as they have, since 2001. Since 2001, gold has been going up by about 22% per year. That's from $250 to a high of $1000, over 7 years.
Now then. Where are the economic incentives today when owning gold pays 22% per year, and owning bonds costs 15% per year?
The incentive is to sell bonds and buy gold. The world economic conditions are paying people to move into gold.

There is no reason to think that anything will change, until it does.
The required change is for bonds to pay more than the annual gold value increases.
Until bonds pay more than owning gold, then gold will continue to rise.
How far will this process be likely to go? How long? Until when?
Until bonds pay more than owning gold, then gold will continue to rise.That's not a misprint; it's a repeat of the main point.Here's another clue:
The size of the U.S. Bond market might be about $25 trillion, and the world bond market might be $50 trillion.The size of the world gold market might be about $5 trillion.
Right now, an extremely tiny portion of the $50 trillion market is trying to buy into the $5 trillion market.

I think about $0.115 trillion is going into gold annually right about now. (4000 tonnes x $900/oz.)That's about 1/5th of 1% of the money is going into gold. And yet 91% of the people are now concerned about inflation. Selling gold to people should be the easiest job in the world right now, the easiest pitch ever. Everyone should want it, yet virtually nobody is buying it, the demand has barely started, and the demand for silver is like 100 times less.
This might be another clue as to how long the gold market will go, but is no guarantee:
Jan. 1980: M3 1,822 billion / gold price $850/oz. = 2.1 (billion oz. gold value)
Gold will go up at least until the gold value of paper money is 2 billion gold ounces, or significantly less, as that was the condition in 1980, and it should probably continue further than that. After all, the U.S. government does not have 2 billion ounces of gold; it only has 0.261 billion ounces of gold.

Be prepared for gold prices to continue to rise about 22% per year or more, at least until bond interest payments rise to over 22% per year, or whatever the gold price increases might be at the time. Now, I want to address people who will inevitably ask me, "What will happen if there is deflation". I will respond, "There isn't any deflation". They will respond, "But so-and-so thinks there is deflation." I will respond, "Well, so-and-so is wrong." They will respond, "But what if things change, and we actually have deflation?" OK, there's a real question. I will respond, first of all, there is no deflation, the money supply is soaring. Before the money supply can actually shrink, it has to slow down growing, and we'd see that first. Then, the money supply would have to be stable. Then, the money supply would have to actually stop. Bankruptcies would vastly increase. Bankruptices are one of the only things that can actually cause deflation, as that destroys credit and money in the banks when banks go belly up. When banks start going bankrupt, how confident will people be to let their money sit in bonds in the banks? Not very. They will start to buy gold even faster than they do today, since gold is not anyone's liability. If that happens, gold will go up until bonds start paying more than gold is going up each year, AND until banks stop going bankrupt. So, if there is deflation, gold will go up more, and for longer, until people trust banks again, which could be a very long time.This is why the Fed is doomed. Printing more will not work. Printing less will not work. Printing nothing will not work. All the inflation of all the years from 1913 until now is beginning to crash down on our heads, and it will keep crashing until it stops. And when will that be? Until bonds start paying more each year than gold is going up each year.

As always, silver trumps gold, in my opinion, since so much silver has been consumed in jewelry and flatware and industry. If the silver to gold ratio returns to the historic 15:1, we will make 3 times as much money in silver, than in gold. But due to the rarity of silver, because it has been used up, because it is hard to find, and because only about 8 times as much silver is mined than gold each year, silver will probably exceed the value of the historic 15:1.
To get an A+ on one of the tests of life today is real simple. You don't need to know any of what I just said, but it might help. All you need to do is buy silver.

A Brief Guide to Buying Silver:What kind of silver, and where to get it.

The silver story is simple: Since the 1870's, the trend has been to stop using silver as money (as a medium of exchange). This has reduced demand. Then, around 1945, electronics started booming, and since silver is the greatest conductor of electricity, a lot of silver has been used up. Today, the world has nearly run out of silver, just as paper money is beginning to fail around the world as gold begins to explode upwards in price. As investment demand returns to gold and silver for savings (as a store of value), like it will for no other commodities, physical silver prices will explode past them all, because monetary demand will return.
Therefore, I strongly suggest that you try to get the most physical silver for your money, and take possession of it. To do that, you ought to ask the dealer at your local coin shop the prices of the following items. (You can find your local coin dealer at a link below.) Prices sometimes change.

Types and Kinds of Silver Available

1. Bars:A. 1000 oz. Bars. --These bars weigh about 68 pounds, and vary about 10% as to weight. You may get a 908.8 oz. bar or a 1099.6 oz. bar, and the price is settled on delivery. These are the NYMEX bars. Benefit: Good for NYMEX delivery to the major exchange for delivery into a 5000 oz. futures contract, and thus, the most liquid for large buyers or sellers. Also, it is quicker to physically move them in large quantities, rather than moving hundreds of 100 oz. bars. Drawback: They are not suitable for smaller transactions, but they are always liquid if they are sold to a wise bullion dealer who knows what they are. The other drawback may be shipping, if you are on the west coast, since the exchange is in New York.

B. 100 oz. Bars. --These bars weigh 6.8 pounds, and are among the most popular with retail investors. They stack well, and make it easier to inventory than 1 oz. rounds or silver bags. Popular brands are Englehard and Johnson-Matthey. Those two brands cost a bit more than other brands, usually about 40-50 cents per ounce above the spot price, but that price may vary with market conditions.

C. Odd weight retail bars. --Stamped as 101.46 oz. or 51.23 oz., these bars cost less, and generally have a wider spread, due to the extra work it takes to calculate their value, and extra risk due to the lack of good brand name. To test that they are silver, try a simple ring test. Bang them with a wooden spoon, and if you hear a faint, quick, "riiiinnnngggg", they are silver. Lead filled bars thud or thunk, and do not ring. But you may be able to buy these as spot, and sell them at spot, depending on the dealer. These are true "bullion" bars, and not found in quantity. Also, there is the 1 kilo bar, which is 32.151 ounces.

D. 10 oz. bars are also very popular, often harder to get, with a slightly higher cost, as they seem more "affordable" and are very neat to hold, and can act as "change" between the 100 oz. bars, and 1 oz. rounds.

2. Coins:A. U.S. minted Silver-Eagle. --This coin is .999 pure silver, and weighs one ounce. It generally sells for about $2.00 over the spot price, and is thus quite expensive. I don't recommend these.

B. One-ounce "rounds". --They are .999 pure silver, and weigh one ounce. These coins are like the Silver-Eagle, but they cost much less. They are minted by a private mint. They generally cost about 40-50 cents above the commonly quoted price of silver--also called the "spot" price. These are often very popular, and a very good choice.

C. U.S. minted coins, dated 1964 or earlier. --These are half dollars, quarters, or dimes that commonly circulated in the U.S. Called "Junk silver", they generally contain no rare or special coins. Sold by the "bag", each full bag contains $1000 face value of coins, such as 2000 half dollars, 4000 quarters, or 10,000 dimes. A "bag" weighs about 55 pounds. This is typically the cheapest silver you can buy, because there is a cost to melt it down to get the kind of silver that is needed by industry. But this kind of silver also can become very much in demand, such as prior to the year 2000, when people wanted "tradable" silver, and bags cost up to 25% more than other silver bullion.

D. Commemorative Coins. Often times, the public will buy silver at a rate of 10 times higher

than the bullion content if it is made into "Elvis" coins or "Space Shuttle" coins, or "Princess Diana" coins. Often made by the Franklin mint and sold on late night TV, these are generally a rip off. People pay so much, and sell them to the bullion dealers only for the melt value. And you can sometimes buy these kinds of so-called collectibles at the coin shops very cheap at just over the spot price, or ten times cheaper than found on TV.
So, what kind of silver is best? It depends on your situation. I own and like the 100 oz. bars, and the 1000 oz. bars the best. But that's because I have a lot of silver. My friends and family typically like the 100 oz bars, 10 oz. bars, and 1 oz. rounds the best. For storing large amounts, the 1000 oz. bars are most convenient. The 100 oz. bars are troublesome in very large quantities--it takes much more work to move 200 of them than it takes to move 20 big ones. I also like the bags, but they may require counting with a coin counter which I have purchased, which takes more time. My kids like the one-ounce rounds the best. Most people find the 100 oz. bars fascinating to hold in one's hand, and the 1000 oz. bars are typically considered too heavy to lift.
How to Buy Silver & Gold, and Where to Get It!
Beware! Don't trade in your dollars (which are defaulted promises to pay silver or gold) for more promises of precious metal! What I mean is, we are clearly heading into another situation where delivery default is imminent!
The safest place to start buying precious metal is from your local dealer, which you can find in your local phone book -- look up "COIN DEALER".
Now you can search for a Coin Shop near you, online! Search by name, by State, or by zip code! http://www.coininfo.com/User/index.php

If you take delivery in person when you pay, then you will avoid the risk of getting stiffed on a failed delivery. Start there, and start small. A dealer in your nearest metropolitan city may not have the best price, but you will get your silver if you walk out with it.
If you buy all that your local dealer has, then look to another, larger shop that might be a further drive away, and then you might consider one of the nation's largest dealers who are not at the COMEX. If you order on the Internet, or from a dealer far away from home, you may wish to place several orders at once, with several dealers, to protect yourself from a failed delivery.
And when you take delivery, get a safe! And also a gun! And maybe dogs. And perhaps a security system and alarm, or more depending on your situation. You can always protect your silver. The typical cost is 1% per year.
I have multiple large gun safes, each the size of a large refrigerator. I store it in various places, in secure locations, on property not registered in my name. It's well hidden behind a series of 4 locked doors; armed security guards, along with security systems. They say you should be willing to spend up to 1% of the value of your silver, annually, on security. If you plan to hold silver for more than 10 years, you may be willing to spend more up front. I spent about 7% up front, and I spend about 1/2 of 1% annually. (I now have room to make silver my number one holding again, but I plan to buy more silver when the stocks get much, much more expensive.) Those who say they cannot afford security for their silver do not understand the concept of wealth, nor do they understand silver, nor security. If you actually have wealth, then by definition, you can afford to protect it. For example, if you have $5000 of silver, buy yourself a $50 lock box, or a $150 safe at Wal-Mart (maybe a floor safe), and maybe a dead bolt and solid core door for your closet. That would give you 4 locked doors, too: front door, closet door, floor safe door, safe door.

Where to Buy Bullion in Large Quantities:

Here's why silver is a better investment than gold...Silver has all the same monetary properties of gold, and more!

The historic price ratio of silver to gold shows that about 10 ounce of silver would buy one ounce of gold, a 10:1 ratio. Recently, the ratio is about a 50:1 ratio (with silver at $13/oz., and gold at $650/oz.) As the silver to gold ratio returns to historic values, from 50:1 to 10:1,
you may make over 5 times more money investing in silver, instead of gold!Silver prices may rise to exceed the 10:1 ratio, for the following reasons:Supply is price inelastic. Higher prices may not cause increased supply (production). Why not? Because most silver is produced as a by-product of mining gold, copper, zinc, or lead. Thus, higher silver prices will not substantially increase the amount of silver mined each year. In 1980, when silver prices went up to $50/oz., less silver was mined than in 1979! Demand is price inelastic. Higher prices may not cause reduced demand (consumption). Why not? Because most silver consumed by industry is used in such tiny quantities in each application, such as in film or electrical contacts, that rising silver prices will not easily slow down the growing industrial demand. Additionally, as paper money continues to fail, people will buy silver and gold without regard to price, or they will increasingly buy simply because prices are going up!Almost all of the silver produced by the mines each year is consumed by industry, which leaves little to no room for substantial investment demand. There are about 125 million ounces of silver at the NYMEX, the big commodity exchange in New York. (As of April 5th, 2006) Each silver contract at the NYMEX is a promise. There are too many contracts, too many promises to deliver silver that may not exist. Each contract is for 5000 ounces. There are often over 175,000 contracts for 5000 ounces, that's a total of 437 million ounces of silver, promised to be delivered. Yet the exchange has about 1/3rd of that in real silver. How can they promise to deliver more silver than exists? If they fail to deliver silver, according to the promises and contracts that they have made, then confidence in the world's entire financial system may collapse. Industrial users of silver may have to shut down their factories. To prevent this, the users will bid silver prices much higher.Due to the risk of default in the silver futures contracts, I suggest that you avoid buying futures contracts, avoid options, and avoid storing your silver with anyone else! Take delivery of your silver, and put your silver in your own safe!Despite silver's intrinsic properties as money, silver began to lose its status as money starting in the late 1800's, as nations stopped using silver, and started using only gold as money. My prediction for gold which has hit an all time high of $913 an ounce which beat the former high of $850 an ounce in 1980 is over 1000 by the end of 2008. Now all these high commodities are all due to the weakness of the dollar and the fact that the federal reserve keeps cutting interest rates and making the dollar weaker. Rememember to introduce a new currency which is what they want to do they must first destroy the dollar. Corn is at an all time high so is wheat and soybeans which are in most of the things we eat milk and other dairy products are too. What's up people been on a short hiatus had to deal with the tenants in my properties you know tenants always complaining trying to find excuses not to pay their rent [black people LMAO] happy turkey day in advance I'll be back on Monday Nov. 26 until then here are the updates. Oil is still on its mission to hit $100 a barrel by years end it is currently at $98 a barrel. The quest to introduce the amero to the American population is still under way but first the American dollar must first be devalued. The dollar index is at .77 cents i predict it will be worth .55 cents in the next 8 years. Gold drop back down to $791 an ounce from its high of $837 an ounce but it will go back higher. If you didn't know the lower the dollar gets the higher gold goes up they are linked together. This happens because sophisticated investors aka the wealthy take their dollar holdings and put it in gold and silver which does not lose its value like paper money which is a fiat currency

If you have money and let it sit it will go to zero slowly but surely and the smart money investors aka the rich understand that basic principle about money. You scared money working class suckers who want to hide your money in a savings account will find yourselves broke at retirement time. Inflation will eat away at your savings like termites at a wood convention LOL. You can go to high school,college and get your masters degree and still not understand the principles of money unless you major in finance or economics and black people will never major in that.Out of all the business schools black folk make up 3% of all the students currently enrolled that's why generation after generation we will stay in the projects suffering on government aid. High oil prices don't immediately effect oil prices it is the refiners that refine crude oil into gasoline and supply and demand factors that directly effect the price of gas. Don't get it twisted though high oil prices will eventually effect you at the local gas pump remember 4.00 a gallon gas ooohhhh, it might be coming back if oil continues to rise like it is

[it's currently over $88 a barrel]. No people it isn't some conspiracy with the government or president Bush or the oil companies that makes gas prices high it's a number of economic factors that determine the price at your pumps. Refiners paid an average of $17.46 per barrel of oil in 1999, and at that time crude oil accounted for about 37 percent of the cost of a gallon of regular gas. This percentage can vary over time and from place to place.
Refining costs and profits
Besides the purchase cost of oil, refiners incur many other costs as well - for operations and maintenance, capital, employee wages and salaries, and so on - and they also must make a profit. In 1999 these additional costs and profits amounted to about 13 percent of the cost of a gallon of gasoline.
Taxes
Federal, State, and sometimes county and other local taxes make up a significant share of the price of gasoline at the pump, with Federal and State taxes alone accounting for 36 percent. Federal excise taxes are, of course, uniform across the country, at 18.4 cents per gallon. State excise taxes vary but average about 20 cents per gallon. A few States also levy sales taxes on gasoline.
Other cost factors
Finally, getting the gasoline to the 180,000 gas stations in the United States and then to motorists incurs additional distribution, marketing, and retail costs and profits. Most gas stations are operated by independent dealers, who set their own prices in response to their operating costs, local economic conditions, and other circumstances.
While gasoline prices in general can be explained in terms of the above factors, additional factors must be considered to fully explain why prices fluctuate over time. For example, gas prices normally change with the season. Because demand tends to rise about 5 percent during the peak driving months, prices generally follow suit, rising before and during the summer (typically about 3.5 cents per gallon) and then falling again in the winter.

Finally, gasoline prices may also differ from one locale to another, for a variety of reasons. Differences in State and local tax rates, discussed above, are one reason. Another is proximity of supply: how far an area is from refineries. Prices tend to rise with distance from the Gulf Coast, which is the source of nearly one-half the gasoline produced in the United States. The extent of local market competition can make a difference as well, with prices likely to be lower when many competing suppliers are concentrated in an area.
Environmental requirements can also cause regional variations in gas prices. Certain State and Federal laws designed to reduce air pollution require that gasoline sold in some areas of the country be chemically modified to reduce motor vehicle emissions that contribute to carbon monoxide, smog, or toxic air pollutants. These special requirements typically raise the cost of making the gasoline. The pump price of the "reformulated" gasoline required in some cities runs about 3 cents per gallon higher than that of conventional gas, and about 5 cents per gallon higher in California. The price difference is greater in California because its standards are stricter than the Federal standards that apply elsewhere. Gas prices in California also tend to be more volatile than in other States because in-State refineries are hard pressed to meet demand and there are few refineries outside the State geared to provide California's unique blend of gas. Demand surges or supply shortfalls therefore usually tighten supplies and drive up prices.

A hard assset is basically a tangible asset like land, machinery,gold ,silver etc. Hard assets are things you can feel live in, or do work with but in the language of investing it usually implies gold and other precious metals. After our little lesson maybe you can begin to understand what these guys on the commercials want with your gold. Now that doesn't mean that you can trade your gold chains on the financial markets,maybe in the pawn shop but not on wall street. To understand how they work you must first know how precious metals[gold,silver etc] are traded on the financial markets let me sum it up as brief as i can.If you trade gold on the glob Ial market it is accepted if it is minted by a national gov't ie USA,Canada,China etc,or by the company who mined it. Gold and silver come in 5000,1000 and 100 ounce bars and 1 ounce coins not in gold rope chains and bracelets. When you send them your gold they take it to the U.S Treasury who then melts it down and mints it with the treasury stamp. It can now be traded globally and gets its true value. For example if you send them a 10 ounce 14 karat[.99 pure]gold chain they will send you let's say $1500 dollars sound like alot huh. I was reading an interview a while ago with Jay Z. He was asked if he would be venturing out into films. He replied, When I own the production, rights and good script I would consider it. It was then I gained a new found respect for his business prowess. He acknowledged the key lesson that must be learned to accumulate true wealth. I put this lesson into 4 words: Stop Renting Start Owning! You need to own the asset not work for it. Simply put an asset puts money into your pocket a liability takes money out. We always watch rich athletes and musicians and ask ourselves, how can they pay these people so much money for what they do. When we should be asking the real question, which is, how much do the people make who pay all these people so much. Well they can afford it because the own the assets that run that business and the network that gets it out. To give a clearer understanding of the renters mind frame v. the owners mind frame, I came up with some scenarios that compare the two.

The renters mind frame - "Yo I'm a be a rapper and be famous and get lots of money."

The owners mind frame - "I'll open a studio to record the music for these rich rappers or I'll buy some printing presses to press the cd's for all these up coming rappers.

The renters mind frame - I'll buy out the bar at the club and look like a balla

The owners mind frame - I'll buy a club so ballas can buy out my bar.

The renters mind frame - I'll rent out this apartment because it has big bedrooms. It's better than living in my mom's basement.

The likes of Oprah Winfrey , Bill Cosby, Don Imus have been making comments attacking the Hip- Hop generation. While many black youths share the feelings of 50 cents response to Oprah Winfrey's comments on hip hop His response is that her demographic is made of middle aged white house wives in suburbia. She doesn't understand this new hip hop generation, which I refer to as the generation of the hustler. The description of her core demographic is true, we shouldn't kill the messenger, but listen to the message. For instance, Bill Cosby said on CNN that African Americans are too spiritual and are always waiting for God to save them. I found this to be true in my opinion the older black generation are waiting on God, while the young black generation are waiting for government aide, a record label or lotto ticket to deliver them. They wait for this instead of delivering themselves with hard work and school (Yes I know you're getting weak. Hard work and school is kryptonite to the young black population). Well the hip hop generation will always be that rebellious teen, who has to learn the hard way, through experience. The era of the white man ( willie bobo) is keeping me down is over! The chains are off and we refuse to leave the master. We had an anti slavery revolution and got our freedom. We had a civil rights revolution and got our rights in writing. We had an affirmative action revolution and got a chance to apply those rights. Now we won't even show up to the interviews. We now need a financial revolution and the first step starts with financial literacy. Let's finally reap the benefits of our ancestors blood and activism. Greetings my fellow fans and haters! I'd like to share a story about an encounter I had a while back with a woman who was in her early forties. I was waiting for a haircut in my friends babershop and there was a television on. It was on CNBC the business channel . She look at me and said "Why do you care about the stock market? That stuff don't affect us black people" So I laughed and shook my head as I often do, while observing my peoples ignorance. Financial illiteracy is not a black virus it's a nationwide epidemic. I laughed and told her I invest in the stock market. She replied "Not me, none of my money in the market. Wall street does not affect me." I said is that so. She said "Yep. I don't mess with that stock stuff." I told her #1 we always hate what we don't understand. #2 The stock market crash of 1929 affected the entire USA. Just ask your mother or grandmother. I then went on to ask her if she has a pension or social security. She replied saying yes I have both. I asked her where do you think that money is? She replied in my pension and social security accounts. I couldn't believe my ears. She really believed that her money is in a special bank account waiting for her when she retires. I went on to explain to her that all pension, social security and 401k plans are all in big funds that are invested in the stock market and everything you're watching on CNBC. So since your future is in the market, you should care about it a whole lot more. After my explaination she looked baffled and promised to look into it more. I never seen her again, but I walked away realizing that was the reason that 10% of the population controls 90% of the wealth. It starts by making economics so complex that the masses are scared of it and never attempt to understand it. Therefore, we've become the servants of money while the rich use money to serve themselves. In conclusion, my people always make riches from entertainment and sports but never accumulate real wealth (i.e. land, oil, precious metals and other real assets). No my brothers and sisters Black Wall Street is not some rap group created by rapper The Game. It's an actual place in Oklahoma a village of black people who actually took advantage of the 40 acres and a mule we were given
[no it wasn't a myth] though it was hard to come by but not impossible. The town had bakers,accountants,farmers ... who were very affluent the whole state of Oklahoma had 2 airports yet 6 blacks owned their own plane. There was also California Taylor who i call the black paris Hilton she took a cruise to France every year for her clothes and engaged in other lavish acts[her father owned the biggest cotton gin west of the Mississippi]. In black Wall street as it is referred to as today the dollar circled the community at least 30 times taking almost a year before it left the town. Here on Black Wall Street they made their money the old fashioned way they worked for it, they didn't have basketball players,rappers and drug dealers but instead they had accountants,doctors,lawyers,farmers and other academics. Can we ever have that prosperity again i hope so but the future looks dark with every 1 in 3 black kids wants to be a rapper and the other 2 wants to be a singer or an athlete. What's funny is you have a much greater chance of becoming a business owner or accountant than you do becoming a successful rapper or athlete, but no one tells our kids tht so they keep striving for these unprofitable dreams. Yes the second thing I thought was wow 50 cent is gonna get a fat check and a taste of the stock market where the real cheddar is. what was the first thing i thought you ask well it's why don't i own shares in Coke of course. It seems 50 owned 10% of the company and his cut from the buyout was 10% of 4.1 billion dollars=
400 million dollars,the biggest check any rapper can ever conceive. Even Kanye West had to admit that when he heard about the 400 million dollar payday,it showed him that in the grand scheme of things he "didn't have his money right"[singing],I guess that was his inspiration for his new song. Yes people the gold is not in music but in real assets like stocks,bonds,land etc and the quicker we stop buying Nike's and start buying stocks in Nike the faster we stop being the best dressed poor people on earth. "Billionaire Bob Johnson, Finally He's Headed To Wall Street"

(FORTUNE Magazine) - "My obit's already written," says Bob Johnson. "I can read it to you right now." He puts down his silverware. "Bob Johnson, the founder of BET, died yesterday. He was the first black billionaire, but throughout his career he was criticized for putting music videos on TV."
Sitting in a jazz club in Charlotte, Johnson traces the imaginary newsprint with his index finger as if the type has already been set.
Bob Johnson is building the first black-owned full-scale financial services operation.
Coming off his 60th birthday, Robert L. Johnson is, of course, very much alive. And one gets the sense that he's not content to let "music videos on TV" be the last words written about him. Johnson's epitaph would, it should be noted, include a few other facts.
First black majority owner of an American pro sports franchise (the NBA Charlotte Bobcats). First CEO to take a black-owned company public on the NYSE (Research) (he eventually sold it for $3 billion). A consummate dealmaker who oversaw a mini-empire encompassing everything from a jazz label to a hotel company to a lottery operation in the Caribbean.
What his obit would not say - at least not yet - is that Bob Johnson changed the face of Wall Street.
But he's on it. Five months ago Johnson announced the formation of RLJ Asset Management, an umbrella under which he plans to assemble what he says will be Wall Street's first black-owned full-scale financial services operation. He's starting with a private-equity fund backed by the ultra-exclusive Carlyle Group;

a hedge fund that invests in other hedge funds, which will be launched with Deutsche Asset Management; and the Urban Trust Bank, a small Orlando institution Johnson recently bought to target urban and "underbanked" areas. (He intends to relaunch the bank this summer and eventually take it national.)
His plan? To hire top black money managers and analysts - most of whom, Johnson says, struggle for traction in mainstream finance; round up investors from his inimitable network of entertainers, sports stars, and businesspeople; and convince pension funds, university endowments, and other institutions that if they're serious about diversity, they've got to do business with Bob Johnson.
"I love the notion of presenting the question to America: Why shouldn't we invite these individuals into the mainstream of economic empowerment in America?" Johnson says, in his made-for-radio baritone. "The answer is, 'We must.'"
There is just one small matter: Johnson has never managed money, overseen a hedge fund, or operated a bank. "Bob can't hit a 25-foot jumper either," quips Kevin Parker, the global head of Deutsche Asset Management, "but he owns a basketball team."
True enough. But Johnson has thrown up his share of air balls. There were the dubious plans to expand the BET brand via clothing and theme restaurants. The failed bid in 1995 for Washington's NBA franchise (which, in an odd twist, his ex-wife, Sheila, ended up owning part of). The 2001 plan to merge United Airlines (Research) and US Airways (Research) into the first black-owned carrier. ("We'll see if it flies," FORTUNE wrote in a skeptical article at the time. It didn't.)
Sitting aboard one of NetJets' Falcon 2000 time-shares en route to Charlotte for a basketball game, Johnson himself ticks off the reasons people on Wall Street think he'll fail in the money business.
"You're a first-time fund. You don't know anything about financial services. You're not capitalized enough. You don't have connections to source deals. You can't raise the money. You can't find talented people." Johnson spreads the fingers of his left hand. "I've just got to knock those doubts down," he says, striking each finger emphatically. "Knock down, knock down, knock down." He opens his arms wide. "Then it has to be: 'Well, you're black. We just didn't want to say it. But you're black.' And they're not going to say that."
Wall Street's color barrier has been hard to knock down. While prominent African Americans like CEOs Stan O'Neal at Me rrill Lynch (Research) and Ken Chenault at American Express (Research) run major blue-chip firms, overall only 2 percent of America's private investment dollars are managed by minorities, according to the National Association of Investment Companies, a diversity-focused trade group.

Jesse Jackson's Wall Street Project, an effort to open Wall Street's doors to minorities, initially generated a lot of buzz but last year lost its NYSE sponsorship.
"There's still a cultural blinder, to borrow a term from Rev. Jackson, that people have regarding black people and money," says Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Capital Management, the largest black-owned mutual fund company. "People have an innate negative reaction because they're not used to seeing us in that space, no matter our pedigree. We're good enough to graduate from Ivy League schools, but not good enough to manage their endowments."
But Johnson is approaching his new project less as a social crusader than as an entrepreneur. "This big banker said to me, 'Bob, I'm embarrassed to tell you this, but I can't find African Americans to manage our assets,'" Johnson says. "And here I know ten African-American guys going around the country begging for money. So the smartest thing for me to do is collect them all under my own brand and go back and say, 'Aha! I found them! So give me the money you said you'd give.'" What he's proposing is a classic arbitrage play. There's an unmet need. There's an untapped resource. And guess whose Rolodex straddles both worlds?
A powerful network
"So I e-mailed Lee Scott," says Johnson's executive assistant, referring to the CEO of Wal-Mart (Research) whom Johnson calls a "business associate." "Good," Johnson replies, dictating orders in the tenth-floor conference room of his new offices in Bethesda, Md., which house all his ventures, collectively called the RLJ Cos. "And give Shaq a call. Oh, and do we have Ludacris's contact?" He's the rapper-turned-actor who appeared in the Oscar-winning film Crash. "Check on that. And send Michael the schedule for the remaining Bobcat home games." He means Jordan, of course.
This scene could be interpreted as a virtuoso name-dropping performance. In fact, Johnson is very much at work. What you have to understand is that while Johnson may have sold BET, he held on to an arguably more powerful network. Forged over 30 years in the cable, sports, and business worlds, his network of personal contacts is his new venture's most valuable asset.
Those calls to Miami Heat superstar Shaquille O'Neal and Ludacris? Johnson ran into them at the NBA All-Star Weekend in February, and both asked about his investing ventures.

Not long before, Johnson - who serves on the boards ofLowe's (Research), talent agency IMG,Strayer Education (Research), and Johns Hopkins University - lunched with William Kennard, the former FCC chairman whom Johnson knows from his cable days.
Now a managing director of Carlyle, Kennard floated the idea of Johnson joining the private-equity firm. Johnson had a better idea: He convinced his old friend they should start a fund together, investing in media, consumer products, and business-services firms.
RLJ will own 80 percent of the venture and make investment decisions, while Carlyle will own 20 percent and help with infrastructure and fundraising. Though Carlyle typically doesn't do partnerships with entrepreneurs, billionaires tend to get doors opened.
Kennard, who is also African American, says his firm "recognizes the severe underrepresentation of minorities in the investment business."
Says Johnson: "People ask, 'What is it about Bob Johnson?' It's that I can get the solid business guys, and I can get the athletes and the rappers."
Being a team owner is a key part of the persona. "There's no better way to make sure everyone knows your name," as Johnson puts it. At a recent home game in Charlotte, Johnson, dressed in a black sport coat, orange polo, and Bobcat lapel pin, was mobbed by kids shouting "Mr. Johnson!" Though it may look like leisure, he says, games are about business.
"The NBA has 30 teams times 15 guys, who make an average of $4 million. And the league is 85 percent black. You'd think there'd be some major firm entirely devoted to managing those guys' money."
Making investing cool
Having athletes and entertainers get involved is great publicity, Johnson says, plus it's the best way to communicate to the African-American community that investing is cool. "Black people have always been uncomfortable with wealth," says Johnson (never one to shy away from controversial blanket statements), "building it, holding on to it, not feeling guilty or less black because of it."
Johnson himself never seemed to. Growing up in working-class Freeport, Ill., Johnson was one of ten kids - and the only one to graduate from college. After the University of Illinois, he went on to Princeton, where he earned a master's in international affairs, then landed in D.C. as a lobbyist for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.
In 1980, at 33, he saw an opening for black-focused programming, took out a $15,000 personal loan, and persuaded John Malone, then CEO of Tele-Communications Inc., to pitch in $500,000. BET was born. Built on a steady stream of increasingly explicit music videos, the network's success was meteoric, and in 2001, Viacom (Research) bought it for $3 billion. Johnson reportedly pocketed $1.5 billion in Viacom stock.
While BET's content incited Johnson's critics in the black community, the sale of the only black network to corporate America upset some even more. Aaron McGruder, creator of the comic strip and TV show "The Boondocks," summed up that sentiment in an interview with the Washington Post when the sale was announced. "BET really does shoot some holes (in the) idea that a black-owned business works in the best interest of black America," McGruder said. "A black capitalist can be as evil as a white capitalist."
In 1999, Morley Safer asked Johnson on "60 Minutes" if he was a role model to African Americans. "I said, 'You know, Morley, why is it that no one has ever asked my good buddy Tom Freston (now the CEO of Viacom) if he's a role model to all the poor kids in Appalachia?' " Johnson explains, "Some black folks have always wanted me to be Robin Hood," but it's not the role for him. His goal, reiterated throughout his career, is to create wealth for himself and for those who've invested money, time or faith in him.
It took millions -$315 million to be precise - for Johnson to imagine Wall Street as his next stop. When Thomas Baltimore Jr., who runs Johnson's hotel operation (which includes more than 130 Hilton and Marriott properties), wanted to start a private-equity fund five years ago to expand the business faster, Johnson told him to go ahead but warned that he "didn't want to do anything" for it.

Still, the Urban Lodging Fund raised $315 million from the pension funds of North Carolina and Connecticut, General Electric (Research), and others in nine months, outstripping the goal of $200 million in a year.
That got Johnson's attention. So has the boom in hedge funds. Johnson noted that black investors - even famous guys like Shaq - were for the most part missing out on a huge wave of wealth creation. He told Lisa Pickrum, the COO of his holding company who had spent a decade in the private-equity world, that he wanted to start a hedge fund.
She called a friend at Deutsche Bank (Research), who agreed to offer some advice over lunch. In vintage Johnson form, the lunch concluded with Deutsche Bank agreeing to help him launch his own hedge fund of funds.
"With any business, you look for an edge," says Deutsche's Parker. "The world probably doesn't need another hedge fund of funds, but there is a lack of minority-owned firms in the space, and this will be minority owned, so maybe the world does need this one."
That's what Johnson's first hires - four well-respected if under-the-radar investors - are counting on. To run the Carlyle fund he's brought on Alan Nichols Jr., a former BET exec who landed in the private-equity world, and Daphne Dufresne, a private-equity vet who ran money at several funds on the East Coast and in Europe.

Managing the Deutsche portfolio is Carlton Byrd, an ex-Goldman trader who developed hedge fund of funds products forFriedman Billings Ramsey (Research), and Derek Saleeby, a former hedge fund manager for RAM Capital Resources who founded a merchant bank called African Private Equity Partners.
Though Johnson tends to hire based on references, he notes that all four have Ivy League MBAs. Each of the new hires also felt the draw of a black-owned firm. "There's no other entity I can think of that can attract all of us to the same place at the same time," says Byrd. "It's great to work at Goldman Sachs (Research), absolutely wonderful. But I'm not Goldman or Sachs, you know?"
For all Johnson's dealmaking prowess, of course, BET was a success ultimately because people watched. On Wall Street it's also a ratings game: Investors will judge him on how his investment portfolios perform. The goal for the two funds, according to Pickrum, is to have $5 billion under management collectively in the next five to seven years, with an initial fundraising goal of $500 million for the Carlyle fund.

Johnson and Pickrum have started pitching: Recently the two were in California meeting with Calpers and Calstrs, the nation's largest public employee and teacher retirement funds. (A Calpers spokesman wouldn't comment on Johnson's new venture, but says, "Diversity is a huge issue for us right now.")
Certainly, Wall Street has done a terrible job making room for minorities, and Johnson is positioning himself squarely on a tension point in the economy. It is a place where he's extremely comfortable.
"If I'm successful in what I do and other African Americans are successful because of that," he says, "then white Americans' minds will stretch to accept us in every role that they accept themselves in." Now that sounds like an obit Johnson could live with.

I remember the dancing era of the hip-hop generation you know the whop, running man etc every rapper had 2 dancers Big Daddy Kane had Scoob and Scrap Lover,Mc Lyte had right and left leg,and Heavy D had the boyz.

We also had the knowledge of self era with gangstarr,poor righteous teachers,public enemy etc.

We had the era of funny punchlines from rappers like Fu-schnickens,common-when he was common sense,and those cartoon dreads Das Efx[yeah you got me i was a fan].

Now we have the generation of the hustler, the pioneers of this era are: P diddy,Jay-z,Master P etc.It was these rappers who ushered in the generation that wanted what was owed to them
